Review By TBC Reviewer

Gaslighting is a serious kind of domestic violence which is very prominent in an Indian household.

As per Wikipedia, gaslighting is “manipulating someone by psychological means into doubting their own sanity”. It is a form of emotional abuse that stifles a person’s self-esteem and makes him/her vulnerable to depression, anxiety, and other mental health problems. (ref: https://www.womensweb.in/2016/11/gaslighting-english-vinglish/)

The effects of gaslighting are sometimes so severe that that person is unable to perform even normal everyday tasks effectively.

Author Pg van has effectively portrayed the effects of gaslighting on Suhana by her husband Ashwin.

Dance With Me is a romantic story with a little bit of mystery about the personal lives of the protagonists.

Suhana is a young divorcee with a teenage son who adores his mom. Suhana who from very young age has been subjected to this form of abuse by her husband has a tough time after divorce from Ashwin as she has lost confidence to do anything as she constantly remembers her ex's words on how useless and incapable she is.

But when her dancing videos go viral, she is at a loss as she is unable to accept the appreciation she is showered on.

Enter Sam (Samyan), a man of every woman's dreams who helps Suhana rediscover her true self. The chemistry between them is too hot to handle.

As usual, the author has written a mind-blowing hot romance but with a social message. This story not only deals with gaslighting but also highlights a second chance in life and single parenting.

Plus points of Dance With Me are a good story, fast-paced romance, flawless editing, awesome book cover. Negative points I would like to point out only one. Till the first half, it is not at all clear of where the story is based: India or abroad. It is necessary for any reader to know the location as it helps to connect and imagine the scenes.

Other than the one minor flaw, author Pg Van has written another wonderful story which is definitely a must read by one and all.
