The blurb of the Book:

Hi, I am Avinash, but this is not my story. This is the story of Avni, my sister. I know the smell of cement and bricks still pulls her to the incident seven years ago where she made a daring yet ruthless decision. I know she is drifting away. I know she has begun to find comfort in Vivaan. But I don’t know if I like it.

Hi, I am Avni, but this is not my story. This is the story of Vivaan, the stunning, vivacious painter. There is something sad about the paintings he has locked away from the world in his storeroom. But he never talks about it. But then there are a lot of things he doesn’t talk about, like how deeply he loves me.

And what about Dev and Kangana? Isn’t this their story too? It wouldn’t have been if only we did one single thing differently on that ill-fated night, the night that changed the course of our destiny. And hey, I am Vivaan.

And what about me? Why does nobody talk about me? Or talk to me? Because I am a little girl or because…Well, this is my story too. You will ask who I am? The answer lies somewhere in the pages of BEYOND SCARS.

Nineteen-year-old twins Avni and Avinash are very close and study in the same college and look out for each other both at home and at college. Fortunately for them, their father is mostly away on work and it is their mother who is always with them.

Twenty-one-year-old Vivaan lives with his parents and younger brother and studies journalism at the same university. He juggles his studies and paintings as he wants to help his best friend, Arjun, with his father’s treatment. holds painting exhibitions.

Arjun is Avni’s college classmate and one day visits Vivaan’s exhibition and she can actually see Vivaan’s paintings as he has made them which is not visible to other people.
Avni and Vivaan are attracted to each other but …..

This book has been written from the point of view of the characters. It has been narrated in the first person and the reader does not confuse as to who is narrating the story as the name of the chapter states as to who is narrating. The characters are realistic and have been developed in detail. Their roles are important, even though some of them have a supporting role.

The scenes have been described in detail and some of them could be visualized easily. The narration is in simple English which makes the book a fast read and the suspense of what happens next had kept me glued till the last page of the book.

Though some parts of the book from the point of view of different characters in the same time frame, it never confused me.

The book has sibling love, friendship, romance, jealousy, drama, suspense, and twists and turns until the end.

I loved the book and the suspense and would definitely recommend it.
